'07 Nurburgring 24hr -
Hi everyone,
I can't find a thread for this event anywhere on the forum so I hope this is the right place for this.....? I'm heading over to Europe next week from Australia to attend the Nurburgring 24hr and then the Le mans 24 hr the following week. The perfect holiday!! I'm traveling on my own and was wondering if anybody is attending Both these races? I'm looking for a lift down to le mans from germany, If anyone can help I would of course chip in for fuel etc.... |

I can't help (I'm sure someone on here can though), but wanted to wish you a great trip. Sounds likes fun. I'm looking forward to my own trip to LM this year too!
You might want to check in with our friends over the Club Arnage forum too. They're rather good with all the logistics and organizing of LM visits. |

A mod may want to sticky this? Light relief perhaps for those who aren't going to (interested in) Le Mans! (Is there such a person? )

I'm missing both this year although a couple of years back I did exactly what you're doing and did them back to back.
I then had to have another holiday to recover. Superb fun and two of the best weeks of my life but my word it wears you out! The 'Ring 24hrs is better though IMHO. Get up to the Karussell and see the British marshals. Always good for a chuckle. Especially a big fella with a wide brimmed hat on called Dan. Last edited by jonbryant; 23 May 2007 at 14:13. |

Thanks guys, it sure will be a physical challenge doing both but I'm definatly up for it! It gets better, I'm heading to Shelsley Walsh hillclimb the Sunday before Nurburgring, then the wknd after le mans when I get home I'll race my Escort RS2000 at Calder Park, I think I may have mental issues......
I'm very new to all this Forum stuff, slowly working it out....JonBryant, I will try and make it up to the Karrusel and see the lads, thanks for the tip. Does anyone else have tips on the best places to view the action from? |

One of the Zakspeed Vipers is driven by Tom Coronel, Christophe Bouchut, Duncan Huisman and Patrick Simon. High quality line up.

If anyone is going to the Nurburgring 24 hr, can you capture some video of the Alfa driven by Malcolm Edeson? If you get any decent footage of him/the car in the pits or on the track and send it to me by email (youtube?) I'll send you a free CG-Lock.
Thanks!! Graham |

I'm assuming you are starting at Adenau, which is the nearest town to the Nürburgring. From there take the number 863 bus to Ahrbrück. I'd suggest the 9.39am bus, which arrives at Ahrbrück at 9.56 The bus stops outside the railway station at Ahrbrück, walk onto the platform and the train will probably be there waiting for you. It departs at 10.04 Stay on that train until you reach Remagen (a town which at first appearance has little other than a railway station). You will arrive at platform 2, go through to platform 1 and get the 11.08 train to Koln. You'll arrive at Koln at 11.42 on platform 3. I suggest you buy something to eat at this point. The next train leaves platform 8 at Koln at 12.14, and takes you to Paris. You arrive at Paris Gare du Nord at 16.05, and have an hour and three quarters before your next train leaves. However this leaves from Montparnasse, which is about 45mins to an hour away on the Metro. (You want line 4, in the direction of Porte D'Orleans). That gives you time to briefly enjoy a bit of Paris. The last leg of your journey is a train leaving Paris Montparnasse at 17.50, and arrives at Le Mans at 18.44. (There are later trains to Le Mans at 19.05, 20.05 and 22.00 if you want to spend more time in Paris.) www.bahn.de allows you to check times and routes, and buy tickets. |

Today’s ‘Ring Coverage On Radio Le Mans (Radio Nordschleife?)
Hindhaugh and crew are in place at the Nurburging, and live radio coverage of the Nurburgring 24 Hours meeting begins this afternoon at 17.00 BST (18.00 CET). The first action, at 17.15, will be commentary on the opening (first ever) ADAC GT Masters race, for 15 GT3 cars around the GP track – with the likes of Kox, Morbidelli, Kaufmann, Bleekemolen, Bouchut, Leuenberger and Ludwig involved. From 18.30 to 22.30 BST, John Hindhaugh, Graham Goodwin and Jim Roller will be describing second (final) qualifying for the Nurburgring 24 Hours – so they should have plenty of cars to talk about. Usual links: www.radiolemans.com www.0157.org |

Unfortunately due to a connection problem in london the GT Masters coverage tonight won't happen - A top Radio Le mans technical operative is making their way to the RLM technical bunker in a fast car to solve the problem. We'll be with you as soon as possible this evening.

Sorry about the delay in RLM's broadcast this evening - We'll be on the air as soon as possible.
In the meantime any questions you have for Myself, Graham Goodwin or Jim Roller please email us at studio@radiolemans.com anytime in the next couple of days. We hope to cover final qualifying in its entirety and we'll have programming throughout the 24 hours itself tomorrow. |
