Doesn't work but if you go under the Auto Racing section it is called "Rahal has a Crowded Stable". It is the third story down and a good read.

Yea, it's the intended feeder series for the IRL, largely owned by John Menard (a businessman and longtime car owner who now has a share in the Panther IRL team). It's in its third season, and hasn't done too well so far, with very thin grids and a lack of successf rom tis graduates.

it is interesting how aj foyt IV and mark taylor have struggled at irl level....
it does make sense for danica to go to ips as rahal does have an irl program.... |

...and MIPS is "Menard's Infiniti Pro Series" of IRL... and the reason I came with this conclusion is quite simple: Rahal's Honda deal in IRL includes Danica - Honda wants her at Indy next year - so MIPS is where she'll go ?!... whether she'll make it to Indy with the "big boys" is a different ballgame, but there is a MIPS race at Indy in May as well... zerO |

Thanks ,I would have known 'IPS' but did not know it had found a sponsor.No TV coverage here this year.Though not much to cover really,looks like IPS and TA will soon disapear to be replaced by the various Renault and BMW series being heavily promoted.

Hornish moved from TA to IRL with less overall success than Danica. The last thing she wants to do is IPS.

i think the article says it all she's not won a race in the atlantic's do owrs need a gimmick i'd much rather see the two top drivers get promoted every year to champ cars. she's a chick alright though

While she hasn't won any races, she has consisently finished in the top 5, had a pole position, and numerous podiums now. While she's definitely not the best in the series, she's definitely one of the best.

I suggest to move to Europe. Formula 3, Formula 3000 / GP2, and then Formula One. Bernie Ecclestone said in the Beginning of the 90's: "The formula one needs a fast German, a Chinese, a Black- and a woman." Well, I think Danica could handle that...

Going by their relative results in lower formulae,I would say that Danica has a much better chance,but if she does,please let it be in a Ferrari and not a Minardi...

As long as she gets rid of the ego, she should be fine. She is a cracking driver, but has a "don't you know who I am attitude".
Perhaps a move to F1 is on the cards, then........ :-) |

When I read the article last weekend, I thought that the Infiniti Pro Series was considered a "lateral move" for her, and thus not one of the options that Rahal-Letterman Racing was considering....
One thing is for sure....Bobby says that he won't be using his Champ Car equipment for her...that is tated directly in the piece.... So she'll have to go with someone else if she races in the OWRS.... |
