At a Speed Hillclimb, the runoffs. Average circuit meeting, the first couple of laps of each race. At an endurance/GT race, Sunset.

When the 1st car of the 1st practice session gets onto the track, it means that the day is begun.

Getting a rolling start/restart nicely lined up well before the line and drivers holding position till it goes green.

Breakfast, closely followed by the start of the first race, especially if it's the first meeting of the season.

I treat every day that I marshal like it was my first day!
I still get that feeling in my (V BIG) gut the night before - the same feeling I got as a child on Christmas Eve! The moment my alarm goes off (5:30 for OP meetings) I'm buzzing and can't wait to be at the track. If it's been a particularly lousy day's racing, I sometimes come away from the track feeling disappointed, but come Monday morning I start to get "That" feeling again. That's the best bit! |

I have lots of favourite bits.
Waking up...no matter what time it is in the morning I can always get straight up cos I am looking forward to going. The first car in the first practice session of the morning particularly if i'm away from the assembley area and especially if it is a little bit misty. Hearing the cars coming round and then seeing them as the appear from the mist always sends a bit of a shiver down my spine. Its great!! |

The magic bonding moment between driver and marshal as you present them with bits which were recently attached to their pride and joy.

Driving the rescue unit round to the position on the back of the grid and trying to get a good start is also a good bit of the day.

The bit where MagnetOn is driving the Rescue Unit which means I have a pretty good chance of getting a cup of fresh tea delivered out to post on their way around to chase the start!

Start of any race does it for me, especially if I'm near the first corner. At a hill climb, the first really quick car to appear reminds me why I'm there. |

hmm I think another good part of the day is when the drivers show their appreciation at the end of the race. It's amazing how much a wave means.

When you hear or see that a car blatently isnt going to make it. Leaves it all hanging out and all skewiff but keeps going.
