don't like the whole Chase deal but it gives me a reason to watch stockcar races past September now. and besides, this year, it gives someone besides kyle a chance to win the Cup; as much as i hate the guy, kyle deserves to win it.
Carl would have never caught him, unless kyle fell off the face of the earth, but i think he and Jimmie J stand the best chance of knocking him off the top. Regardless, go Dale Jr! |

I echo field's dislike of the Chase system, but, well, it is what it is (and it is not unfair, despite the claims of some, given all competitors agree to compete under those terms).
Out of all those in the Chase, the two I'd most like to win it would be either Burton of Edwards. I'm not a fanclub member of either, though. |

I would love to see 'Smoke' win it for JGR in his last season.
However i can't see past Busch 18, and he does deserve it. At least he's given junior nation someone to hate now that Jeff Gordon is a teammate. Looking forward to my 2 chase races this year Lowes & Martinsville |

Jimmie Johnson was good on most of those tracks in the chase over the last couple of years. It looks like it could pan out that way again.

although he is off to a bad start to no fault of his own, you cannot count out "Capt Snothead" aka "Rowdy" aka the young busch sister.
plenty of time for him to make up points and there is the "big one" looming in alabama that could take everyone out. you never know cause the chase is on! |

It still surprises me that since Sprint took over they didn't rename it the "The Sprint", or "Sprint for the Cup", or something. Ah, well, fortunately it matters not.
Edwards has been in a crazy run of form recently. If he can keep it up, he has to be one of the favourites. |

My 2 choices to win this chase are Carl Edwards or Jimmie Johnson.

This shows everything that is wrong with these STUPID points systems ... anyone who doesnt think KB is the champion of 2008 is on drugs. He has been the class of the year but because he has a couple of bad ones in the "chase" he is almost out of it. What a joke!
The rest of them had their bad ones when it didnt count as much. Reminds me of the year Ryan Newman won a third of the races and came 8th or 9th in the Title. Complete and utter cr@p I say. |

The Chase is a fantastic idea. It is the perfect way to decide the champion. I mean, we all know Bruno Giacomelli was the 1981 Formula 1 World Champion, because his fourth and third in the last two races were the best results of anyone in the final part of the season. And West Ham's Premiership triumph in 2006 following an amazing run of wins demonstrated that they were really the best team that season, not the rubbishy Man Utd who only bothered racking up the points in the first 30 or so games. No, we keep The Chase. It's brilliant.

when they first began talking about changing the points system, it was for a safety reason; eliminating the "modifieds" that ran for 400 miles with more damage than a car that has been thru a demolition derby. i remember distinctly robby gordon's hood flying off going down the back stretch at daytona and injurying a spectator. this is when they first talked about points change. ovenight it went to virtually the same system with some sort of american style playoff, to keep fans, like myself, going to the races late in the season and watching them on TV. it is, IMO, a very silly way to call someone a SEASON CHAMP, not the best in the last 10 races. |

Wow, It'll be real hard for Busch to back now, while I'm sure he can have some good results, if Johnson, Biffle and Edwards are up in the top 5-10 too he doesn't really gain much. It's a real shame because he's been a standout up until now.
Great race though, 3 teammates racing each other really hard! |
