Agree with that Robert, some great racing (bar the (yawn) sportscars). And good to meet with you all at Purple Racing at last. Thanks for the great gift btw.
Looks promising for the rest of the season. Well done to all. I couldn't take part in the walk as I was disqualified in advance for wanting to use illegal contraptions. Doh. |

was nice to get back out in the car, but was a complete waste as we had problems with the electronic ignition module in quali, then in race 1 a piston tried to escape out the exhaust, we got an engine off of the custom cart guys, think jason was one of their names ? (thanks a lot again for letting us use the workshop and tools e.t.c!) but missed the second race start with just a few bits left to do, will be out in dmn in a couple of weeks, all be it slower, but id rather just finish to be able honest now !
dont suppose you managed to get any pics of the car in the few laps i managed jon ? |

Just a note to everyone, I've got 3000 shots to go through so please don't expect miracles as I do have a day job! All being well I'll try and get them uploading overnight so they're online for everyone tommorow... |

A great day overall although so many ups and downs I was knackered by the end of the day.
Quali went really well and I managed 6th fastest which I was really happy with. There was a knocking noise near the end of the session so I bought the car in to be safe only for the FL wheel to fall off as I coasted through the paddock. The wheel nuts had given way and I was left stranded! 1st race went terribly with the car snapping into exreme oversteer everytime through Surtees. By the third time through it was too dangerous to carry on. Inspection of the FR tyre found that it had been fouling the wing under load causing the wheel to lock and the back to swing round. I dont remember there being any contact and it was OK through quali so no idea what caused that but a few hits with a big hammer and it was Ok. 2nd race went really well with lots of overtaking and an eventual 9th place. Looking forward to Castle Combe now. |

Better that it falls off in the paddock than *through* Paddock I'll bet... Looked a good quick drive.

Thanks for you support Mig and Mad dog.
I must admit that i think Brands Hatch is my prefered circuit in kent. All tarmac paddock, great circuit, warm showers! Very well done to all involved. |

Looked a great days racing, all races were very clean with no real panel bashing just good overtaking moves.
Well done to all involved. Only downside being the poor grid for the open sports racing cars, but the tintops, intermarque, pbmw and ttrs all made up for it Simon |

Was a good day had a few gremlins with my tomcat lack of boost left me well down on power but still enough to be able to race and not trailing around at the back, but in the first race my battery went flat and everything cut out going in to druids at that was it over for me in that one.
Race two still with the boost problem and no alternator and a very small battery left me wondering if i would make it to the end, starting in 21st made good progress up to 10th following xr2 then 3 laps from the end the first signs of a missfire appeared then the engine started to cut out. Two very long laps later and loosing a place to a mini i made it just to end up stopping in the pit entrance. Looking foward to combe hopefully with some more boost. |

Well I'm off to bed and leaving these photos uploading! They will eventually appear on http://www.snappyracers.com/album/Brands150309/ for your entertainment and sarcastic comments
Be about 12:15 if you're still up although I think it's quite late and you have work in the morning |

It was a fantastic days racing and I was very impressed with the driving standards, two very close races and no contact what so ever! I was very pleased with my results in the unfinished car, roll on Castle Coombe once I've got brakes that work and no more overheating or fuel surge!

Does anyone know where the timings/results are published yet? - can't see anything on Rod's site and am not sure which company does the timing.
Am itching to get out and play in the Tin Tops soon but Fiesta preparation is taking way longer than expected. |
