Classic how Webber jumped out of the way for Hamilton.

FIA officiating is like the F1 2012 penalty system.... Garbage.
Praying that Lewis gets the win as it would be us first at Mercedes. That RBR might snatch first though right at the end but we'll have to wait and find out. Last edited by PepsiVodka; 28 Jul 2013 at 13:57. Reason: Removed autocensor dodge. |

Watching live timing. Not enough bandwidth for Five Live and no streaming. Could this be Lewis' first for Merc?

Congrats to Lewis but what a great bit of defensive driving by Kimi.

Great win for Lewis, he really needed one. And if the Merc remains as good with the tyres as today he'll get many more this season.
Great drive by Kimi defending from Seb too, who had reability issues again. Those laps in 1:29 to cool the car killed his 2nd place chances. Still, 38 points lead into the summer break is not bad at all. |

Ross Brawn's trophy looks better than the podium drivers' ones.

Very satisfying Grand Prix. Next up in a month,
my favorite piece of realestate in all of racing, Eau Rouge! |

Great win for Hamilton, but his car is no worse than any other car on these tyres and his car is certainly as fast as anything out there. Game on!

What about Ferrari, are they out of contention now ? Nobody talked about them and Alonso was 5th in a race that should've suited them with the high temperatures...
Fernando must be giving up already, he just said on Spanish TV that Red Bull has been between 1 and 1.5 seconds faster than Ferrari for the past 4 years and he needs a miracle because Mercedes and Lotus cars are also better than his. |

Grosjean has been given a 20 second post race penalty for his clash with Button, but it doesn't affect the result because he was 21.524 seconds in front of Button.
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/109068 And Alonso is being investigated for activating DRS on three occasions when he was more than one second behind another car. http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/109069 |

Hopefully Hamilton scoring his first win of the year should pave the way for more successes and make the championship battle more interesting. I expect the Mercedes cars to be the cars to beat at Spa and Monza given the good form they have at the moment. Hamilton should ideally win at least the next two race, barring any retirements to get his championship challenge back on track.

But they didn't. And Lewis' start made it so they never looked likely to. They don't have divine rights, you know. (Praise the Lord for that! ). |

Analysis on Grosjean https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6GLT5VdWH8
All makes sense to me. The thing with cutting the chicane is Button pitted at the end of the lap so he would never have been able to give the position back anyway. What's he supposed to do, slow down 20secs? |

Of course the corollary is that if he knew Button was pitting, as your post appears to suggest, then as Button was only about 1sec slower, Grosjean could have waited. The truth is probably that he wanted to pass because he's a racer and in going off he transgressed. Don't forget that giving the place back is not a "get out of jail card".
