Ekris Motorsport developed the car in-house and was given 'all clear' by BMW Motorsport to have it homologated as the Ekris M4 GT4.
Worked perfectly as BMW didn't have plans to replace the aging M3 GT4 with a new car when the development at Ekris started + when they did announce the works car, it was clear it won't be available for customers until 2018. |

Thanks, that's really interesting. So does the FIA have any regulations about how cars are badged?

Not sure about FIA regulations, but GT4 is managed by SRO.
Badging and construction of cars allowed as long as the manufacturer approves the project. |

Well, safe to say it's a nissan, what with JRM's connection And considering the 370 Z is very old now. Although, if it is a Nissan, I'd be curious why Nissan didn't announce it at the same time as it their new GT3 |

So what do we make of the new championship format with the "interdivisional rounds" and the play-off like part at the end of the season with the majority of the cross-over races?
Seems very US-stick-and-ball to me, and the nerd in me really wants it to succeed, but I am not sure if there'll be too many teams that are ready to do a 9 race season instead of just 6 weekends. |

The series write:
"The series is set for an influx of new teams this season, with RN Vision STS (Porsche Cayman), Sean Walkinshaw Racing (Nissan 370Z) and Bullitt Racing (McLaren 570S) already confirming their entries. More familiar names like Allied Racing, Ekris Motorsport, Scuderia Villorba, Sofia Car Motorsport, Las Moras Racing and Equipe Verschuur will also be back this season, while Academy Motorsport and Sellite Racing Team will return following their series debut in 2016. " For me, they are two different Teams. |

To clarify that bit, it is indeed a technical partnership with Equipe Verschuur running the cars. Nothing special there, as V8 Racing ran the Las Moras Camaros in the past. For the championship they will be different teams. Look at it like the RJN and NISMO entries in Blancpain this season.
For GP34 by GEMO Motorsport and Race Perfomance. They have shown interest by saying they have seats available for both series. Nothing more, no entry forms whatsoever. Last edited by Marcel ten Caat; 6 Mar 2017 at 12:47. |

Allied-Racing with Jan Kasperlik and Tim Stupple in one car. Second car less likely at the moment.

WooW, it looks like that the Northern GT4 is exploding now. Does this mean that GT4 is becoming to be the new GT3?
