Adrian Burgess Leaves Walkinshaw Performance
AA reporting that Adrian Burgess is out the door at Walkinshaw...
https://autoaction.com.au/2017/05/12...gess-part-ways Can they somehow blame him for the munted car? Supercars have confirmed it: http://www.supercars.com/news/champi.../?sf78290140=1 |

Needed to happen, they need new direction to develop the car into something competitive again. Burgess had the chance and wasn't able to deliver sadly.
Now the hope is the replacement will bring fresh ideas which are more in tune with what is required for success in the sport. That won't be easy... |

Its from Wikipedia though so the veracity of that claim wants a review but When you look at Wikipedia there is no mention of a parent. Lets blame Mr Google for a snafu. |

Might this be the beginning of an exodus from WR?

Not sure to be honest, quite possibly, although at that time you could run a couple of cars under the one franchise from memory, so the CAT car might have just run on the same franchise as the Supercheap Falcon's it joined?

In 1999 there were several classes of franchises, as RECs were then known. Level 1 for established teams that entitled them to enter multiple cars (it fluctuated from 2-4 at various times), Level 2 for one-car teams and Level 3 for privateers. IIRC, PAE (Caterpillar) and Briggs Motorsport (Supercheap) both had a Level 2s. When Briggs Motorsport expanded to a 3 car operation in 2002, it purchased Fred Gibson's Level 1 franchise.
