brake by wire is nothing really innovative or exotic anymore...
in a "normal" brake system, hydraulics are directly operated by brake pedal, in bbw there is a power sensor that detects brake pedal travel and according to that, hydraulics are electronically managed to deliver every time the best braking power. It's used mainly in hybrid and electric racing and road cars because the system manages braking and energy recover at the same time, but bbw is found also on conventional road cars... corvette c8 is equipped with bbw. |

We have done everything within the rules to make our car as fast as they can be.
ABS is not allowed. BBW is and enables better braking. We don't sand bag. The FIA has the tools to balance performance. We believe that there will be a fair BOP and that the 200,000,000 fans who followed us this year will see races where we have a fair chance to win. |

Nice to hear from you again Jim. We'll be behind you again this coming season. Just hope you can get some reasonable success at the very least

We're just about done with our Aug 2021 (month of Le Mans) media/social/TV audit which we're showing to potential 2022 sponsors. (One of whom is an F1 Sponsor who may switch to us) 200,000,000 yearly audience reach is wildly wrong. It was a guess. A poor one. Our August only reach was actually MUCH higher than my yearly guess. Our August AVE (Add value equivalency) was 652.1M$. Any sponsors looking for that type of exposure. Drop me an email. As for the rest of it. We're doing our bit. We think the FIA will too and we look forward to fair, balanced and exciting racing. |

This is good news.
Braking was a problem for the car last year. It was encouraging that the braking problems seemed to be less at Le Mans than before. I guess that the brake by wire advantage is that it allows a way of ”tuning” the brakes? |

I'm sure bbw gives a more comfortable life to drivers since in normal condition they need to adapt braking to different conditions... there is a big difference about car handling from driving a >1200kg heavy car after refuel with fresh tyres to a lighter car but worn tyres... bbw should help to deploy the best braking power anyhow despite different situations. Guess also that a little advantage of 007 compared to gr010 is that 007 bbw will have to only manage braking unlike gr010 involved also in energy recover process.

This was the thinking of Bernie Ecclestone in F1. Better have fewer spectators with heavy wallets than a large poor crowd. In that way you look at who is watching you, what is there buying power and how many of them. That way you can go to your sponsors and say, we can expose your brand to 652M $ of buying power. This is much more saying to a marketing department than we have 200.000 spectators - but are they able to buy your products, we do not know. |

Other than Pla, who do we think are the full season crew for Glickenhaus and who for Le Mans?

I'd guess Briscoe will still be there. I honestly can't remember if Derani has a different drive for Le Mans or not. I'd keep him if possible. Beyond that I think it will depend on who has factory drives tied up.

Probably Dumas, Pla and Derani. Not confirmed until they know about Le Mans. Quote:

Glickenhaus Instagram: In honor of Luigi Chinetti who started me on the road to Le Mans. As discussed with Jacqueline & Luigi Chinetti, Glickenhaus Racing will put N.A.R.T stickers on 708 and 709 with the above explanation.

Luigi probably bought a shirt and just wants to make sure the sticker is actually on the car this year.

Very nice to see Luigi honoured. Really great sense of history from Glick. Really hope they get some results this year

Looks like we may get a 3rd Glickenhaus for LeMans:

It would be really cool to see somebody take him up on the offer. I have no clue who could be interested and have the money for this. I mean if somebody wanted to run in Hypercar, they could have approached Glick months ago about buying a chassis. Now somebody has only 48 hours to decide to do Le Mans? that is a short window to try and put together the budget. Although the factory running the car for you probably does help that situation a bit.

Fingers crossed he can get it sorted. Of course it depends which drivers are available and who can afford it. It would be good either way if we see the car running.

I would be in favor of seeing a 2nd full time WEC entry as condition for a 3rd Glickenhaus car/entry @ LM. |
