Zonda- exhaust pic
the great Pagani Zonda- aren't the exahaust pipes routed through that '4 barrel' port hole in the back? then why is this race version spitting fire out below? what gives...

I am guessing the bend in the pipes would add weight due to the extra length and it might possibly be more restricting, somehow???

But if you don't confirm that you either took them or have the right to post them, I'll be taking them all off.

fastdetails.....
You can always tell due to the black border and the writing in the bottom corners.... The pics are normally shown as thumnails, with a link to the larger version, so perhaps you could just post a link to the pic instead....Or is that against the rules too? As for the original question, i'd agree with RM40, i think that sharp bend required to get there, would restrict the flow of exhaust gases, sapping power.... There may also be aero issues with placing the exhaust outlets there... |

yes, I noticed the change of exhaust exit point when looking round the car at Sebring, I may have a picture inside the engine bay. I do remember that the race car has only two exhaust pipes exiting rather the four on the road car.

So, unless Fab or I can be convinced in the next hour or so that gttouring is entitled to post these pics, we will take them off. Shame, it'll make the thread look rather silly. |

Yep. I'm sure they could. But if they don't and people want the pics (I'm not about to go looking for them right now).......

FYI, you should read Timothy Crete's views, and requests in regards to using his images in "chat room" threads:
http://www.fastdetails.com/siteinfo.htm Back on topic, I believe the exhaust exits lower, to meet ACO rule 5.8.3, which states the exhaust exits must be between 10 and 45cm above ground level. |

sorry ayse- I really can't remeber where I got them- I was searching for the proper link this morning- I would try www.dailysportscars.net
I was trying to hide the source or say they were mine-my ravenous behavior for good desktop pic lead me to collect and collect before i ask where, also try www.americanlemans.com, and www.pistonheads.com they have great lotus pics now- the special type 49 edition is stunning, although real power comes from aftermarket sources, why is that? and the exhaust was the real question on the zonda, not picture piracy I apologize to any I have infringed on or insulted (yes I read you Post Ayse, about image theft- carelessly I commited some apparently.) |

Aysedasi-
I have scanned my folders, and found the proper image of the Zonda, Yes the www.fastdetails.com is on the corner of the image, this is the source. I apologized to Mr. Crete and requested permission, He will get back to me, and if so I will post the reply here and if possible post the image back if and when I get the permission- This was a purely scholarly inquiry on the set up of Pagani's Zonda GTS race exhaust, nothing more. |

Wow, quite scary that. Lotsa capital letters spelling words like NO, EVER, ANY, IN ADVANCE
His pics, and therefore his decision as to what happens to them, but why so strict? Sure, you don't want people to claim credit for them, but, well, you know... (I just hate it when you don't know what to say next) Last edited by pirenzo; 29 May 2003 at 15:22. |

When you post his pictures, most people use the [img] function and do a direct link. This increases the usage of memory on his website. He is normally near the maximum memory in keeping all of the pictures he has as is, and going over his limits increases costs a great deal. This is a free site for us, no pop-ups or advertising, and if costs went up due to people linking too much, the site would be closed down. I like the site, and am willing to respect that in order to keep it open. |

Don't worry overly about it gtt - I have no doubt you posted entirely innocently. And thank you for what you have done since. It may seem a harsh rule (and certainly one which other fora seem oblivious to), but mods are asked to apply it strictly - so I have.
As Fogelhund points out, Mr. Crete is entirely within his rights to set whatever conditions he wishes to protect his work/investment, call it what you will. If someone was doing the same with pics from my site (and yes, I should be so lucky!), I would be damned annoyed too. |

kudos for saving the thread- Yes Mr. Crete's web site is a business I suppose, i looked over it, and he would never grant permission for a website anyway...Seems a bit brutal afterall it was purely scholarly but business is business.
Thank you bernard P for the save, all is well. And what did they replace the exhaust with? are those LED's or just sparklies, nice view on the suspension eh? |
