Well spotted. Because of this Peter Daly has pulled some strings with his friends in heaven, and got Mother Nature to move Winter between the end of June and the start of September.
I hope this won't inconvenience anyone? |

That wasn;t the intention, but we can anyway! also they are considering an "extra" Christmas on the 25th of July, but Steve Burns will confirm that later in the week!

Looking excellent so far. Now to get 75% of them on the grid for every round and we'll have a mega championship!

If all this lot turn up it'll be a bit different to last year won't it? The spectators will be in for a treat at Mallory...

Would I be right in saying that all the people registered so far under the new rules have also automatically registerd for the other FF1600 championships ?

Think you can race with them yes but you will need a racing number. For example, I'm also number 9 in the Southern but will need another number if I go to Oulton etc.

for example at combe you don't get a perminent number, the number is given on your championship position/car class....so in theory could you just simpley enter a combe race as you have registered for the SOM ?
don't know about number allocation on the other championships |

My understanding (possibly wrong) is that you register for all the championships but had to indicate your 'main' championship on the form - I did see the form and thought it was something like that, anyway.

no main championship just tick the ones you want to do, the SOM SFFC you can used permanent numbers where as combe is like Matt says. you dont have to have a main champ though just the ones you wish to participate in

The Star of Midlands is being supported heavily by Hewitt Motor Sport Ltd. The total season prize fund is in excess of £6k in value. The first race at Silverstone 20 March has three free entries to The Walter Hayes Trophy for the top three overall finishers. Entry forms are now available from James Beckett. We have garages included, so don't worry about the weather, Silverstone can be fun in the wet!

justin, with last years SoM having very few wet races, it seemed a good idea this year not to race in the sunshine, afterall wet races save tyre costs.
ANYWAY....on another note, are there many people out there that would support a FF1600 race at Spa in July? Please PM me. Peter |

It was on slicks but its not much quicker.... if anything its over tired. Too much drag. The mono spec engine is no better. A bit more torque maybe but not better than a standard ff160 as power bands are diff.
A mid 49 in standard ff1600 trim should be no problem. The Lola is a quick car. Look at its festival times!! |

FF1600 race at SPA within the MONO race, 2 x 30 min practice and qualifying (best time from the two sessions will count to grid placing)1/2 hour race (about 10 laps)
Qualify FRIDAY am and pm 9th July, race Saturday am 10th July. Then join in the party with live bands, bbq etc for the evening. It is a major event with large crowds and belgian beers! Includes the VW 25hr funcup race. Approx cost is £360. exact details to follow in next couple of weeks. in previous years a Nat A license was acceptable, this needs to be confirmed. For those who have not been to Spa, the distance from Mallory to Dover is the same as Calais to Spa, the roads over there are slightly quicker. Ferry for motorhome with trailer on a night crossing is about £200. Fuel is cheaper than the UK and the return trip passes by many tobacco and drink outlets. (all for personal consumption of course!) |

Mono emailed me today that Nat A licence will be OK. Need sticker on extinguisher saying checked within last two years and belts must be newer than five years old.
