Mallory Alpha Incident
Didn't think I would be here telling this tale today after nearly being wiped out by two Alpha Romeo's in the first race at Mallory yesterday!
There were only the three of us - Graham the Flaggie, Maria on Incident and me at Post 9. All we can really remember is seeing two cars coming full chat through the esses and then touch at about 10ft before the Oak Tree. We all hit the deck (As is says to do in the Blue Book!!) The aftermath of the impact was quite frightening really - two cars, one in a particularly second-hand state with a detatched fuel tank and petrol everywhere. The other car although appearing to be slightly less wrecked was being driven by a young lady who unfortunately was taken to hospital following complaints of neck pain. The track looked like a scene from a distaster movie! Thanks to my team and to others from posts 8, 10 & 11 for your assistance in dealing with the incident and I hope that the drivers involved (Cars 55 & 98) are OK! Mark |
