Kovalainen-driver of the year
Tonight Heikki Kovalainen was awarded the prestigious driver of the year award at the Finnish Motorsport Awards.
This is a huge achievement in his racing career of just 4years to be awarded a trophy that in previous years has only been won by people competing at the highest level (Raikkonen, Gronholm, Makinen, Hakkinen to name but a few). 2004 has definitely been the best year for Kovalainen: he is the World Series Champion (dominated the championship), has been testing with the Renault F1 Team, will be competing in the Race of Champions and has now won this award-not many other drivers can say they have had a year this successful. Hopefully this is the year that will get Kovalainen thrown into the spotlight and have people take notice of his talent.
