FRIDAY 1 JULY

Matters held over from Round 5: Shanghai International Circuit:

Following an investigation by the IPO, and an admission by the competitor, the Stewards found that car #16, Garth Tander, was in breach of the rules, careless driving (B6.7.2) in regard to an incident with car #12, John Bowe during Race 3. The Stewards imposed a penalty of a drive-through penalty equivalent of 35 seconds, to be added to car #16’s Race 3 time.

Following an investigation by the IPO, and an admission by the competitor, the Stewards found that car #1, Marcos Ambrose, was in breach of the rules, failing to obey the directions of Officials, failing to attend a media and promotional activity away from the track (E6.5.10, B6.8.2, E2.1.5). The Stewards imposed a penalty of a fine of $5,000.

Car #7, Alex Davison, failed to stop at the weigh scales when instructed by an official (D16.5). The Stewards imposed a penalty of a loss of qualifying times to that point. Car #7 represented for weighing.

Car #9, Russell Ingall, failed to stop at the weigh scales when instructed by an official (D16.5). The Stewards imposed a penalty of a loss of qualifying times to that point. Car #9 will start Race 1 from the rear of the grid.

Following an investigation by the IPO, and an admission by the team, the Stewards found that Garry Rogers Motorsport was in breach of the rules, in that car #33 left pit bay prior to pit exit opening (D11.5.12.1). The Stewards imposed a fine of $2,000.

Following an investigation by the IPO, Brad Jones Racing was charged with a breach of the rules, in that car #21 left pit bay prior to pit exit opening (D11.5.12.1). Brad Jones Racing did not admit to a breach of the rules and requested a Stewards Hearing.
