Engine options

Hi all,
I have just picked up an old FF chassis and am looking for a low cost engine/trans option for it.
Mainly going to use it on track days etc but may venture on to the track in the future.
Had a look at x-flow hewland but the cost of the box looks just plain stupid.
any advice welcome.
Cheers
Mark
