Problem with Le Mans 24h on PS2

Hi Guys, I've been playing Le Mans 24h for the PS2 and I've run into a problem. I've completed all of the game except for the 24 hours of Le Mans. Every time I come into the pits and save it says the save has worked. If I then quit the game and then load straight away it works. But if I power off the PS2 and then go back into the game and try to load. It save there is no save file !!!!! This worked fine whilst in the Petit Le Mans 10 hour.

Has anyone els had the same problem, and do you know a way around it so I can save.

Thanks in advance
