Mays, Raymond
Raymond Mays Mays was the inaugural winner of the British Hillclimb Championship in 1947 with victories at Shelsley Walsh (21/06), Bouley Bay (24/07) and Prescott (14/09). He was also Champion in 1948 when he scored two further victories. He finished 7th in 1949 failing to add to his tally of championship round wins due in no small part to the increasing workload brought about by the BRM project. 1950 was his last year in the championship and he scored his final victory at the early season Shelsley meeting. |
