In a thrilling race, Edwards took claimed his second victory of the season and closed the points gap to Bayliss. In what were atrocious conditions, Edwards was one of only few riders to set consistent lap times and keep the bike relatively upright.
Ride of the race came from Bayliss. He fell twice in the conditions, but both times stormed back through the field, and who knows what may have happened had he not fallen the second time such was the speed has was travelling.
Haga and Hodgson staged a brilliant battle for second position while Heckles was best of the privateer British bikes in 6th.

Bayliss and Edwards again showed they were class of the field with a great battle at the front of the field, with Bayliss eventually coming out on top. In topsy-turvy wet-dry conditions, the two championship heavyweights battled it out race long. Brilliant racing.
