FIASCC SR2 - new engine regs?
There are plans to up the engine size limit for SR2 to 4l in order to incorporate N-GT engines such as the Porsche 996 flat six. If the no. of cylinders is raised to 8 (and I don’t know if this is being considered) we may see the Ferrari and BMW V8s in this category as well. Plans are to restrict these new engines so they will fit in with the engines currently in use (3l V6).
Is this a good idea? It could be good for the FIASCC - but it effectively creates another category of smaller sportscars alongside the SR2 and LMP675. Maybe 675 should go in this direction as well? |
