HeritageTouringCars should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Heritage Touring Cars - The Legends of Bathurst

Round 2 of the Heritage Touring Cars 2013 championship is fast approaching, with a field of 30 Group C and Group A touring cars heading to Morgan Park QLD next weekend (27-28th April) to participate at the HRCC Autumn Historic meeting.

With the event featuring the under 2 litre class cars that made Bathurst famous for having "a race within a race", it's no surprise that category stalwart and octogenerian Bob Holden shall be competing amoungst a field of many "Bob Holden Motors" built and prepared ex Bathurst racers.

Additional Heritage Touring Car "Masters" (owners and drivers that raced in the category during the original "C" and/or "A" period) include John English, who shall race a Group A Supra ownerd by John Abbot, Wayne Clift in his original VK Commodore, Craig Harris in a Bob Morris XD Falcon, Frank Binding in the Army Reserve XD Falcon and Carey MacMahon, who actually drove for Bob Holden in a couple of events many moons ago - but who now gets his kicks from piloting one of the ex Nissan Motorsport HR31 Skylines.

Giving Carey a run for his money in the Group A category shall be Terry Lawlor in the ex Colin Bond Caltex Sierra fresh from his round victory at Phillip Island, Bill Pye in the ex Dick Johnson Greens Tuf Mustang, and dark horse David Towe in the menacing JPS BMW.

The Group C "Big Bangers" include Elvis (Ed Singleton's STP VH Commodore) and Lindsay Woolard in the ex Brown Edmondson ReCar VC Commodore, going head to head with the XD Falcons of Craig Harris and "Field Marshall Ford" - Frank Binding.

Across both categories shall be a variety of makes and models, big and small that will make the Lloyd Bax Handicap Feature Race on Saturday afternoon a must see, as Geminis, Celicas, Escorts, Dolomites, Gazelles, Corollas are chased down over a 5 lap dash by RX7s, M3s, Starions, Mustangs, Sierras, Commodores and Falcons.

On hand and keeping the racing clean across the weekend shall be category DSO - Colin Bond. Apparently Bondy knows a thing or two about these cars...
