Richmond Qualifying

For the second consecutive race, the front row is red-and-white. deFerran obliterates the track record to take the pole, with Castroneves right behind him. Not bad considering the team and drivers had never seen the track before. Hornish quals #3, a full quarter-second behind, which can prove to be an eternity on a track this short.

The Infiniti didn't show so well this time. Cheever and Schekter near the back of the pack, P17 and P18 in a field of 21.

I'm looking forward to this one, and I'm glad it's being carried on TSN in Canada. I've never watched a night race, nor have I seen Indy-style cars let loose on a 3/4 mile track.
