- Hyundai's Freddy Loix retired with a clutch problem
- Peugeot's Gilles Panizzi stopped in the stage to change a puncture
- Marcus Grönholm (Peugeot) stopped in the section with an engine problem, and was forced to retire
- Petter Solberg (Subaru) stopped in the section with a clutch problem. However he is continuing
