2019 Antrodemus Supercars Fantasy Championship (NOW OPEN)

Welcome to the 2019 Antrodemus Supercars Fantasy Championship, now in its 17th season on www.tentenths.com

Named in the memory of long time custodian of the Supercars Fantasy Championship, the late Antrodemus , the 2019 game will see entrants line up to compete for the coveted Pete55 Memorial Trophy. Both men regularly thought of kindly, both men regularly missed.

The object of this competition, to win the 2019 Antrodemus Supercars Fantasy Championship, is to accumulate the most points possible for the least dollars spent.

Points accumulated are the same as scored by the actual drivers in the Virgin Australia Supercar Championship series. Stay within the championship salary cap and select your choice of the ultimate team of drivers in the Virgin Australia Supercar Championship, to score points based on the actual, real results of the drivers you choose throughout the year.

1. Salary Cap
Like all great sports fan competitions, the 2019 Antrodemus Supercars Fantasy Championship has a Driver Salary Cap, a cap designed to make sure the richest entrants aren't able to simply buy their success by picking all the favourites for their entry.

Under this 2019 ASFC Salary Cap, you the entrant can hire up to 3 drivers from the regular season Drivers List for your team.

The choices can be from the same team, different teams or a combination of both. You can pick the top runners and eat up a lot of your budget, or choose up to 3 cheaper runners to maximise your points each race weekend

You the entrant don’t have to use all of the 2019 ASFC Salary Cap, but please DO NOT GO OVER THIS CAP as your changed entry will not be recognised for that round.

The Salary Cap for 2019 is $2,000,000.

It has been $2,000,000 for a few years now, inflation is unknown in the Supercar paddock, and we have made sure that your favourite drivers are still affordable.

2. Drivers List
Below is the 2019 ASFC Drivers Price List of pilots nominated to race at the Superloop Adelaide Parklands 500, and their accompanying prices, for the regular season.

The driver valuations this year are based on a combination of 2018 VASC driver championship points, changes in preparation teams & car brands & car source, input from Ladbrokes betting markets, a level of evaluation based on driver and team prior performance & potential, and an Excel spreadsheet to harmonise the cost per point from 2018 results. And sometimes, a wet finger stuck in the air..

You can pick the pilot(s) you like, the one(s) in form, the one(s) who will keep scoring points even though they aren't driving a front running entry.

Or any combination of these, always within the Salary Cap of course.

And to the list...

2019 ASFC Drivers Price List:
$1,300,000
Scott McLaughlin
Shane van Gisbergen
$1,200,000
Jamie Whincup
$1,100,000
Chaz Mostert
David Reynolds
$1,000,000
Fabian Coulthard
Mark Winterbottom
$900,000
Rick Kelly
Scott Pye
$800,000
James Courtney
Anton de Pasquale
Nick Percat
Tim Slade
$700,000
Will Davison
Andre Heimgartner
Lee Holdsworth
Cameron Waters
$600,000
Todd Hazelwood
Richie Stanaway
$500,000
Simona de Silvestro
James Golding
Jack Le Brocq
$400,000
Garry Jacobson
Macauley Jones

The driver selection in the regular season is for the whole of a race weekend, regardless of the number of Virgin Australia Supercars Championship races held.

Driver Swaps
If an entrant has a driver that he/she chose for their 2019 Antrodemus Supercars Fantasy Championship team replaced for the regular season for any reason, the entrant shall automatically have the replacement driver in their team instead of the original nominated driver.

If a driver in the above list is replaced for any reason by his/her team for the regular season, the replacement driver shall be valued as the original nominated driver.

Wildcards
A number of Super2 teams with a VASC affiliation are talking in the media about bringing wildcard entries to particular one off rounds for their endurance event partners.

Where there is a wildcard entrant for a regular season round, the driver of that entry shall be priced at $300,000.

On conclusion of the wildcard's participation in the regular season, you as the entrant shall automatically revert to your nominated regular driver line up.

3. Pirtek Enduro Cup
The Pirtek Enduro Cup is a three round, two-driver series at Bathurst, Sandown and Gold Coast.

During the Pirtek Enduro Cup, the entrant can choose to continue with their nominated regular season driver line up, or choose to change it (see Hiring & Firing below) to include the enduro season specialists that also participate in these 3 rounds.

Your driver lineup must still fit within the $2,000,000 2019 ASFC Salary Cap, and you will be allowed an extra pilot, so you as the entrant can have a maximum of 4 drivers at these three rounds.

You as the entrant shall automatically revert to your nominated regular driver line up after Gold Coast, should you choose this option.

The price list for the enduro specialists will be confirmed prior to the Bathurst round, once it becomes clear who is entered.

Wildcards
Where there is a wildcard entrant for a Pirtek Enduro Cup round, each driver of that entry shall be priced at $300,000.

On conclusion of the wildcard's participation in the enduro season, you as the entrant shall automatically revert to your nominated regular driver line up.

4. Hiring & Firing
As the entrant, you are permitted to change any or all of your drivers in the lead-up to any round of the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship, as long as you don’t exceed the 2019 ASFC Salary Cap, or exceed the number of drivers allowed.

You might choose to change your driver line up sometime during the year because of poor results. You might think a particular driver will be outstanding at a particular race track, and a change in driver line up for that round could be smart thinking. You might find that you the entrant have a similar driver line up in your squad to someone else and the only way to finish ahead of them on the point score is to change your driver line up.

Cost Of Change
There is a cost to your 2019 Antrodemus Supercars Fantasy Championship points haul to change your driver line up.

We have made it easier for the scorekeeper (me) this year.

Every time you change your permanent driver line up (changing 1, 2 or even 3 pilots), it will cost you the entrant 50 points in total

Note that for the Pirtek Enduro Cup, the change to your driver line up should you choose to do so for those 3 events will cost 0 points, however the driver line up will revert to the pre Enduro Cup driver line up at the end of the Season of Endurance.

How To Change Your Driver Line Up
To change your line up, see Team Announcements to announce your new team.

The deadline for making changes is the start of first practice.

Where the changed line up exceeds the Salary Cap or driver number limit, this will be communicated in this thread, for the entrant to correct for resubmission before the deadline. If the resubmission is not completed by the deadline, the previously nominated driver selection shall automatically stand.

5. Points:
The points accumulated in the 2019 Antrodemus Supercars Fantasy Championship are exactly the same as accumulated in the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship!

Whatever a driver scores at a round is exactly what that driver will receive here.

Driver points penalties will also be included in the drivers points in this championship.

6. Sharing The Race Results:
Round results and 2019 Antrodemus Supercars Fantasy Championship standings will be posted in the Fantasy subforum following the conclusion of each round.

Please note that while the fantasy championship is important, and indeed the scorekeeper has an entry too, the real world sometimes gets in the way from getting results compiled and posted immediately. Rest assured, nothing is forgotten, and all results will be up prior to the Friday of the following round.

After the results have been posted, you can choose to report on your team’s performance (or lack thereof). Show us how good you are at creating & distributing marketing communications

If things don't seem to add up, feel free to point out the area of concern (nicely and to the point) in this thread.

7. Team Announcements:
Once you have picked your driving line-up, give your team a name, announce some sponsors, racing numbers, draw & share some liveries, find some grid girls/guys, mascots, overseas technical partners, your manufacturer of choice, then post here giving a detailed description of the copious quantities of hide your team will kick in the forthcoming season.

To make it easy for the busy scorekeeper (me), could you please condense the marketing communications into this form following your press release... for example...

Quote:
NAME: John Goss Racing
SPONSORS: Wang, Channel 10, K-Tel, Citibank, McLeod Ford, Aunger, 2UW, Holts Products, Shell, Motorcraft, Bridgestone, Pacific Film, Endrust
DRIVERS:
#3 Jack Le Brocq ($500k)
#5 Andre Heimgartner ($700k)
#10 Anton de Pasquale ($800k)..... (Totalling $2,000k)
MANUFACTURER: TWR Jaguar XJS V12 Coupe Supercar
Please use this format when making changes to your driving line up, to make sure the Salary Cap and driver number limits are not exceeded.

Had this combination of pilots been in place in the 2018 series, Gossy would have placed somewhere in the 30s....
.................................................................................................... ...................................................
Entries are open as of now, so start issuing those press releases, and get drawing!
Your team can be altered without penalty until first practice at Adelaide.
Comments/suggestions/queries/bribes(?) are more than welcome, either here or via PM.
Time to nominate your team ladies and gentlemen, encourage your friends to join in... lets see if we can get 50+ entrants this year!
