For the first time in my life I will try cooking "
French silk cake recipe" which I find quite complicated.
Here is the recipe:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 4 oz unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 Tbsp powdered sugar
- Whipped cream and chocolate shavings for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Slowly mix in the melted chocolate.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Stir in the vanilla and salt.
- Gradually mix in the flour until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
- Whip the cream and powdered sugar together until stiff peaks form.
- Spread the whipped cream on top of the cooled cake and garnish with chocolate shavings, if desired.
