I am trying to put together some info on the 1979 CART season.
Can anyone explain the scoring system which was used? At first I though that the points were linked to the number of laps in the race but it doesn't follow for the whole season. In one race the winner got 1000 points whilst in others only about 200 were given. Also, it appeared that anyone who started the race automatically got some points. Does anybody know which teams actually took part in the season? All I have found so far are the sponsors of the cars. Any info will be very useful. |
