Does he have time though? Does he have to start his 4 laps by 6pm or finish them by then?

I'm guessing Marty Roth won't get back on track after putting it in the wall so its Ryan or no-one now I guess.

I must admit I'm highly surprised Ryan Briscoe turned out to be the mystery driver - here's hoping he gets a shot at qualifying before the time is up!

Bummer.
EDIT - Nice to see Medeiros getting into the race though. I'm positive he has a lot more speed in him than what his qualifying speed, hampered by the low-budget effort, would suggest. Last edited by rustyfan; 21 May 2006 at 22:03. |

Live timing/commentary via the IndyCar website - I don't get any tv-coverage of qualifying or practice here in Sweden.
Thankfully I will get the race live and commercial free tho |

We seem to get random 1 or 2 hour segments on tv (I got up at 5am to watch 2 hours of Bump Day - I mean free practise). Missed the action by 2 hours.
I've had to make do with live timing since I got to work. |

Yes, Marty is physically fine. He was taking the same high & bad line through turn 1 that he has taken all month except he held the throttle flat because he knew if he didn't he'd have no shot at making the field, well, that line carried him right into the wall.

the thing is, Marty has been slow all month and has been beaten by alot of part time teams
He is to compete in the rest of the IRL season, i worry he will be very slow The slowest driver this season has been Chesson but he qualified in 20th which is a million times better than Roth, i think he may struggle |

Good to hear he's ok. As for his speed, I thought he'd be quite safely in the field after putting in some 219mph+ laps a few days ago. Guess he must've picked up one heckuva tow, or temporarily found a sweet spot he never really managed to get back to.

i dont think many people thought Chesson would have made 20th and also Matsuura, impressive again |
