I know 1 session doesn't make the season - but...
For all the talk and bagging poeple have typed over the last few months, a couple of notes from the first qual for the year:
S.Johnson makes the top 10 and out-qualifies his much fancied (and skinnier) team mate. Bowe qualified the PCR falcon a bit further up the field, but was out-qualified by the young chap who replaced him at BJR. "Fords big signing" (S. Richards) is 12 places behind his team mate. Brighty manages to drag his own car up to 12th in his first outing as owner/driver. Jack outpaces Shane. Lee outpaces Dean. Maybe Skaife does own HRT, and all the fuss has interupted his preperations. R. Kelly - 2006 Champion - just indside the top 50%. And the much hyped "why doesn't he have a full time seat in the main game, life is so unfair" Macrow qualifies 2nd last (in a car that should be similar to the one that qualifeid 4th) Disclaimer: Above comments are made bassed simply on the viewing of 1 time sheet, so maybe some have "excuses". I think Brighty's effort in the Britek chassis was definatly the "Play of the Day", honorable mention to Lee Holdsworth and GRM for their work in out qualifying a lot of the "guns"

Jack outpaced Shane because Price binned it just past the chicane.

Oh ye of little faith
I have been telling you how good the Meister Driver Steve Johnson is going to be this year. Steve is totally committed and understands that the future of D.J.R is in his hands . It is an onerous burden but Steve is just the Man to do the job having just became engaged to the love of his life and understanding the responsobility of being a father Steve has came of age . |
