It's a wee bit short notice but...
Tomorrow (Saturday June 24th) the Aston Martin Owners Club hosts its annual StJohn Horsfall Memorial Meeting at Silverstone. And this year, they've got something a bit special. The Group C Sportscars are back, and have their second UK race of the season. This is of course as well as some great Ferrari Challenge racing, Aston Martin club cars both vintage and DB era. Events start at 9.00AM with practice. All in all, if anyone is at a loose end, there are a lot worse places to be than an AMOC sports car event. Good grief, I just realised. Tomorrow will be my sixth pilgrimage this season to Silverstone. Never mind all the other circuits in the country. |

Ah! Good point, Craig.
Actually, I had to knock the Goodwood weekend idea on the head, principally because my li'l sister is so close to going into hospital that I may have to shoot off at a moments notice to be with the family. That meant that buying Goodwood tickets in advance was an outlay I simply couldn't risk. I decided I could allow myself a Saturday of motor racing, but I'd better stay in London on the Sunday. Sorry Dude. Snetterton? I can buy you a pint that you'd enjoy there. You did have interesting words to say about the Old Speckled Hen REAL ALE that they serve at Goodwood! I have a mobile phone, which I have undertaken to have switched on.
If the baby is imminent, I am then obliged, under pain of death, to pick up from Silverstone and sprint back down south as fast as my Vauxhall Corsa can carry me. If only to be pouring reassuring whiskies for my father as he contemplates the name "Grandad" for the first time. |

Maybe you should pop into the paddock and borrow one of those Group C cars as i'd hate to be in your shoes if you don't make it
I've just posted a new topic ref Snett... |

Well, THAT was a sensational day's racing. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. The Aston Martin club put on an awesome show of classic and contemporary sports and prototype cars.
Special praise to the hooligan who has spent the last winter building a kevlar bodied Group C-inspired silhouette prototype ASTON MARTIN VANTAGE. In bright yellow! And it was a wise decision, methinks, not to commit to Goodwood. Because my new niece, Joanna, announced herself to the world at a little before seven this morning. Proud uncle meets the new arrival this afternoon at about 2.30. I can hardly wait! |

No danger of that for a few years, Craig. Got to think of the little one's ears.
The first goal, of course is her third ever word. "Mummy" and "Daddy" should be the first ones she learns, but the third? I'm going to be working hard on it being "Bentley". Although if her Dad has anything to do with it, it will be "Ford Escort Mexico". I think I'm in with a shout there, don't you? By the way, you were right about the Jags. Although the Group C race had an XJR-11 and XJR-15, as well as a pair of XJ220s. The other races had perhaps half a dozen assorted E-Types, including one which has turned up in Austin Powers Union Jack "Shaguar" livery this season. There are some strange bunnies in the world. |
