johntt should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
It would be great if Ganassi went to Le Mans (split from Daytona 24 thread)

Well,
Ganassi run Lexus engines in GA.

Lexus are owned by Toyota.

Toyota are looking at an LMP programme (possibly).

Penske have moved in on Ganassi territory with their link up with Wayne Taylor's team, and the commentators on Speed reported that Penske have said that they would do a full season of GA if everything came together.

Looking for sponsors I bet.

Penske has Kurt Bush and Helio C, Patrich Long, Sassch Massen, Roman Dumas, Temo Bernard, Sam Hornish, Rayan Numan and Ryan Brisco on his payroll already. SO finding drivers would not be difficult.

Can't see JPM doing Le Mans while he is in NASCAR to be honest, being a NASCAR driver is a 12 month a year job. The only non-NASCAR race I could have seen him was the Indy 500, but it clashes with the 600 these days...

Many drivers have managed to do both Indy and the 600, i'm sure JPM could manage it. I doubt any of Ganassi's Nascar drivers would do LM, but they could easily find other drivers to join their regular crew.

I'd say the only chance of that happening would be if Toyota suddenly started winning in F1 and therefore not pulled the plug on that operation. Because if they leave F1 by 2010 they'll most likely use the F1 infrastructure for LM.

On the other hand, maybe they need a "customer" team to run a third car like Audi...

Okay, back to topic: First time I watched any Grand Am, definitely not the last. I'm even warming up to the looks of the DPs.

That was before they changed the timing around to make it impossible for JPM, Tony Stewart, Robby Gordon and others to pull the double. I expect both Mssrs. Franchitti and Montoya will be pure NASCAR boys this year.

I can tell you Ganassi was looking at something outside of GA and leaving GA was even on the cards for a while. But that's all I can say.

I have to agree that this would stir things up a bit, LMP1 or 2? How far off is the car they run now? Was it Ganassi that was talking to Dalara? It would be good challange for them.
