Stefvh should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
It looks like, for Button, there will be no choice between F1 ans SPortscars. At least for '09.

If Honda would be willing to throw away their F1 team, could Acura's project be under any sort of threat?

Honda and Acura are part of the same group ..... unless maybe the LMP effort is being financed by the American arm , but it looks to me like savings all around are parr for the course .

I can see , if the project isnt successful pretty quickly , it might not last , much like Cadillac did . I sincerly hope not !!!

But I must admit , the thought of seeing Barrichello in an LMP is great news !!!

I would say no, at least for the time being. Their sports car program is doing well, taking roughly half of the victories in LMP2 last year and with an overall win to their credit. On the other hand, their F1 program is a joke, with their two cars jockeying to see which one will finish second to last; a total waste of funds, if you ask me. Maybe they can free up some resources to be able to contend for the LMP1 championship.

That they are two polar opposites seems to bode well for the Acura program. Also that the Acura program is a Honda of N. America project and not the parent corp. makes some difference also. And the fact that the Acura program is of a customer type vs pure Mfg. along with the cost differential between the two being the amount of the GDP of a medium sized country would, i think, make a difference.

Rubens has now all his time for an Endurance program wherever he wants

He also has time to write the books about his auto-biography at Ferrari F1 in the same time as endurance campaign

Question: Do you see any prospects in North America for Jenson Button or Rubens Barrichello, assuming a buyer isn't found for the Honda F1 team? (David, Trumansburg, N.Y.)

Answer [Curt Cavin]: Unless they've had major changes of heart since I last visited with them, they're not interested in U.S. racing unless it's ALMS.

Hell, then Highcroft needs to dump Scott Sharp, who has as much talent for crashing cars as the late Colin McRae and get one of those F1 guys in there.

To elaborate on the above comment - if they dump Scott Sharp, they dump their budget. And then pay an F1 driver with what, exactly?

If Scott was that bad, they wouldn't have come so close to winning the championship. Sure he had his offs, but overall he is a decent second driver and gave Brabs the chance to win some races.
