When I was writing the rules thread this year I tried to think of how to deal with strange situations but I didn't expect a race with zero qualifiers in a class!! I haven't decided what to do yet,it will either be nobody gets a point or everyone does, the effect is the same.

Personally, I would scrap P2 entirely from this round.

Agreed - Level 5's antics from this round mean it's essentially farcical for our purposes. Happy to waive any points that I might be due for LMP2 here.

Since I didn't account for this type of thing happening in the rules for this year I am happy to follow the will of the players. So far we have 3 people (Bentley03, Canadian Alms fan, and isynge) voting to not count LMP2 for this round. I would be interested to see what everyone else thinks before I make a decision.

My one concern is that we will have this problem throughout the season in LMP2 for the ALMS with only the Level 5 cars signed up. My suggestion for all future rounds would be to only include a class in the FRC scoring if at least 2 cars start the race.

What does everyone think?

Perfect solution, and on the basis of it, I vote as well for scratching the LMP2 votes from the Long Beach round.

I'll agree as well. It was a bit of a 'non-result' anyway so it doesn't make too much difference.

Based on the overwhelming response to drop LMP2 for this round - I did. In the future, LMP2 (or any other category) will only be counted if 2 cars start the race.

This rounds winner was FordCosworthPanoz with a whopping 17 points, Congratulations! The round results and total points so far are outlined in the table below (the table was sorted by total points). We have a few weeks off until Spa, and with the car count expected to be near 60 the FRC pics will be quite a bit tougher than this round.
