BTCC CAMPING

i see the camping for the btcc at oulton is in 40 acre field
lets hope its got better security than the BSB meeting when it was in the same area
there was alot of items pinched from the marshals tents etc,no segregation from the public, but the police did catch the people involved on the sunday night, but there is nothing to say it wont happen again

I don't keep anything valuable in my tent when I'm not in it. Anything other than sleeping bag, &c. and clothes stays in the car.

Thefts were happening at night whilst pople were in thier tents asleep. there was also some thefts at the F3/GT meeting, this was possibly a trial run for the BSB the following week.

Wow, been a while since I was that drunk

Srsly tho, valuables go at opposite end of tent, away from opening, so somebody would practically have to climb over me to get to them.

I think you got your view across in your first post!

Event sites are always vulnerable and the larger the event the worse it is. As said keep your valuables in the car and keep your car keys close to hand.

I second that. Very painful when jabbed in the eye & the serated edge can be used for disembowelling while the baying mob holds the little scrote down.

keep your car keys hidden in your tent. one marshal at the bsb had his keys taken, car empted and the keys put back in place. the guy thought nothing had happened when he woke up and then found all his stuff removed from the car whilst he had slept. and i also had a visitor that night but he went empty habded as i woke up when the zip was opened on my inner tent..marshal campsite 2010 btcc is now covered with new trees.

Nicking bags and car keys out of tents and then emptying cars is a favourite approach to event sites, the thieves have worked out that most people are sensible and keep stuff in their cars so they now look for keys.

It's not something to have nightmares about but just be sensible, lock everything away and don't leave your keys in an obvious place.

These kind of people seem to get in to event sites no matter how good security is, they are pretty good at what they do....
