Sad news - Simon Bradley

Pits and other specialist marshals may remember Simon Bradley who was a pit marshal at Silverstone in the BRDC days as well as being Chief Pits for some of the Powertour and early F3/GT years for the BRDC and the BRSCC a few years ago.

Sadly Simon was diagnosed with cancer towards the end of last year and despite treatment he died early yesterday morning aged 43.

He leaves behind his wife Rachel and many good friends; he was a lovely guy and a great marshal and he will be missed by so many people.

He gave up marshalling a few years ago for various reasons but never lost his love of motorsport, we did many Le Mans 24 and Classic trips together and he spent a year working with Williams F1 through his employer.

I hope I've managed to directly notify most people who knew him well, but apologies if I haven't, some of the email addresses I have are out of date.

There are no funeral details as yet but I'll update and I can pass Rachel's address on by PM if needed.

Very sad news especially for one so young.Simon was always good natured in all the tasks I have seen him involved in. His sense of humour and positive approach to all things will be missed .My condolances to Rachel and the rest of the family.
