Synchronising data logging and video footage
I am looking into synchronising data logging from WinTAX 3 with video footage recorded on a Go Pro. The idea is to have the footage from two drivers side by side and the data as well.
Which software would you recommend to do so? |

I tried RaceRender but wasn't as impressed with it as much as with Dashware. RaceRender does allow additional camera footage, something Dashware does not. That's something I tend to fix with either Sony or AVS (pro-production sort of) As I still need to do some onboards from a previous race-meet, I will see if I can make a screencapture of the process, to give you an idea .... |

Dashware or Trackvision. Both are good, but Dashware has a slightly easier way to build dashboards.
I thought RaceRender was horrid, but some people seem to prefer it. |

Liked Dashware. Was going to buy it on pay day but might have a quick play with trackvision first.

Tried Dashware with some real data. Easy to use (once you know you have to tick a box to get the dials to work). Nice professional looking product with a good range of gauges. It also has a pretty good maths functions.
Tried RaceRender, fairly easy to use but the free version is a fairly limited range of gauges. Lots of extra features in the area of 'picture in picture'. Test example below - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ikggynGH5IY Trackvision next.....but it looks a bit pricey compared to the above. |

Will probably go for Dashware, doing picture in picture is pretty easy with most video editing software. |
