Little stats about MotoGP 2017 (^_^)'
Maybe I have been out of this forum for some days, perhaps weeks... or even months. Ok, put there years.
Anyway, Einstein taught us that time doesn't exist (or was another thing what he said?, it is confuse). I have done some (potentially idiotic) statistic about 2017. Maybe it is outdated, maybe it is good to remember some context from last season to understand this one. The first graph shows the evolution of form in MotoGP across the season, smoothed trying to eliminate random/casual events and bad/good luck. Smooth data for the first two races and the last two races is not shown because the nature of the smoothing process (it needs prior and posterior info around each race). Note the vertical scale is in race positions, not in points, so it appears less dramatic than differences in points. The color code is reasonable for Honda, Ducati and Yamaha. Dashed lines means "second" rider (in final classification). The graph is NOT acumulated, so there really was a chaotic/interesting equality of performance in the first races. In the second part of the season the hierarchy was clearer. Second graph is for Moto2. Blue is Morby-Marquez, Silver is Luthi (he is always second, isn't he? ), Orange is Oli. Morbidelli was not so dominant, specially in the first part. That "pesky" (and wise) Swiss was hard to beat until the very last races, right? Third graph is, not unexpectedly, for Moto3. Mir, Mir, Mir but Fenati (black) was a consistent performer. Canet (blue) began in a promissory way but later he "chose" the wrong matrix pill and went out of the room. Martin (silver) had an unfortunate middle season but he came back strong, really strong (let´s remember we don't have the smoothed results for the two last races...). I hope this post is liked for someone out there and so I am not pushed out of this forum as an "evil foreign" troll |

so second graph takes results of both Marquez and Morbidelli?
can you remove Marquez from the equation? |

Daniiii!
Sorry for my dumb explanation. The blue normal line is Morbi, the blue dashed line is Marquez. |
