Van Diemen to go F3
This has just been reported on the Autosport site......Any suggestions as to the Driver lineup if they go Championship class?

Dont know about drivers, but i would love to get my hands on the Van Diemen F3 from 1992. make a good mono car.
I'll drive for them......anyone got a spare £150k? |

I would imagine the 1992 car....yes!
And national class F3 £150k sounds more than reasonable for a season |

Surley with Barber just winning the title in a VD , then that would make a sensible choice to move back up with them to F3.

Van Diemen move up to F3
Van Diemen move up to F3
The factory Formula Ford team of chassis constructor Van Diemen is moving up from Formula Ford to join the British Formula 3 Championship in 2003. The team who are have won British Formula Ford five times in the last ten years, will call themselves Comtec Van Diemen. They will run a Mugen Honda-engined Dallara chassis next season but it is not yet known if they will compete in the Championship or Scholarship Class. |

Any idea who will be driving for them it will be a risk for who ever it is but then John Booth done the job in his first year and Jon Lewis is no idiot he's a winner like him or hate him

Does anybody know if they will continue with Formula Ford? I hope they do or it will leave a big gap in formula ford, not just talking about Jonathan Lewis being a bit rotund.

VD is all about FF any thing else is an add on as far as I can see they will never leave FF with or with out Mr Lewis

Van Diemen might be about Formula Ford, but what about this new team. If they have new backers they might want to move them from fford. Also if they do both F3 and fford will Mr. Lewis run both teams or concentrate on F3.

From what I have seen this year Mr Lewis walks around a lot and shouts at people so on that basics I think he will over see both if his tonsils allow, hope this answers your question

Mr Lewis won't be at all F3 meetings. He'll split his time between FF and F3... unless FF joins F3/GT meetings! ;-)
Barber has a lot to prove in F3 having a 'mare of a season with ADR a couple of years ago. I reckon he'll drive. |
