Peter Mann - 1948-2024
I had intended to put this up a few weeks ago following the appearance of Peter's obituary by Marcus Pye in the 11th July issue of Autosport, but sadly failed in that endeavour.
A quiet considered man, Peter was well known in historic motor racing circles and in earlier times had raced a couple of ERAs amongst others. He retired from racing some time ago and recently was probably best known for owning and entering two ex Tony Crook cars - Cooper Bristol T24/25 and Frazer Nash Le Mans Replica Mk2, often driven by John Ure, who had also raced Peter's white ERA R9B some years ago. I had last spoken to Peter at this year's VSCC Spring Start meeting, Silverstone in April and he appeared well. His brother, Chris has informed me that the cancer diagnosis was very recent and took him very quickly. A sad loss, R.I.P, Peter |
