Jeez mate, dont know how your memory is surviving?

32 Cars were in the 1995 race, one of which was not behind 11 at the beginning ( Wayne Russell Ric Shaw broke the rear suspension doing a practice start just prior to the green flag and effectively started from the pit lane, few people pick up on this minor point) http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/re...1/10/1995.ARDC

How many cars were in that joke on the weekend? I did notice three of them were starting from the pit lane too! (Why 7 didnt mention this is beyond me???)

Larry had 29 cars in front at the start of lap 2, Tander had less than 23 to deal with!

Didnt matter, Larry never stuck it in the wall on that day

I've been sticking up for Skaife on numerous occasions even though he isn't my favourite driver. Though I wonder what effect Jeff Grech's departure had on MS performances over the past two years, in particular?

Is it coincidental that since Grech arrived at Sprint Gas Racing, they've become quite competitive?

I think it comes down to Walkinshaw
one good car one bad car
notice when Skaife started to slip?
and when Snappy came back

Look at Brock he had the car fail on just about every outing
while his favoured team mate got the good stuff
Brock had a deal signed with Mobil not HRT. and if HRT didn't have Brock. HRT didnt have Mobil

Brock anounced he was retiring, and his form and his car got better'
Amazing

Tom wants the team back and he will shaft and muddy a legends name to do it

If i was Skaife i would be looking for a drive as far away as I could from TWR

I think Skaifey will have one more year in the car, then HRT will sign Lee Holdsworth for 2010.

Walkinshaw to take the lot

eNews reports today that Walkinshaw is about to get the remaining 50% of HRT that he doesnt own, off Skaife, and that this will lead to Skaifes departure, or at least move sideways into a third car. However Tom needs V8Sa approval to do it, interesting decision for the V8 Board.

Fair enough... but I doubt that Tom threw the wall at Skaife on Sunday, or threw him off the track at other times in recent seasons...

I think the hard thing for Skaife at the moment is that his team mate is probably the top driver at the top of his game... that's a bit hard for anyone to keep up with...

and what makes it even harder is that skaife was the top driver who was at the top of his game.

Looking at Skaife on the weekend he isnt peddling too well at all, he looks noticeably fatter in the face and has lost that swagger he once had..... and now the rumours are he is going to get the Big A from his 'red team'. Getting moved aside in your own team.... ouch..

Mods, can I ask that this thread NOT be renamed, it was phrased to reflect the newspaper article linked to the primary post.

edit: too little too late, in the above request.

A shame the wishes of author of the thread don't count.

To the editing Mod, have you read the linked article ?

Rachel, i read the article and in it a reporter states that the future is bleak for Mark skaife.

The thread title quoted Mark Skaife as saying the future is bleak. I'm sure you can see that this is substantially very different, especially when you consider that Skaife has remained bullish about his driving future.

I think that's a bit far fetched. So I suppose when Tander handed the car to the slower Skaife, it's because the car was once again compromised by the mechanics during the pitstop?

TW might be a tough nut but I doubt he's stupid. All drivers peak at a certain point in their careers. Skaife has done the team justice as has Brock... but time doesn't stand still.
