So , then Cytosports and ? who have an automatic entry then . You may now update the list please . Im just trying to get an accurate pic of what we can expect to see . Once we have that list correct , we can start knocking stuff off as we hear what intentions are . |

Great work Mr B!
Regardless of 'hypotheticals', it's a very useful reference thread. |

As time goes on if the WEC is successful then more and more (if not all) of the LM entry will have to come from WEC - unless they reintroduce pre qualifying.

Due to already earning two automatic invitations, AF Corse's automatic entry for winning in the LMGTE Pro category at Petit Le Mans was instead awarded to second place Flying Lizard Motorsports. AF Corse's automatic entry for winning the GT category Energy Endurance Challenge in the Le Mans Series was also awarded to second place JMW Motorsport.(from wikipedia)

I´m not sure if I understand the process correctly so I´ll just throw this one in:
What´s the sequence of reserves once a competitor reaches more than 2 auto invites? Is the table (as published in the sporting regs.) leading? And if so, how does it work? For example P2: LM24 1 = Greaves PLM - 1 = Level 5 LMS - 1 & 2 = Greaves + Strakka ALMS - 1 & 2 = Level 5 + Level 5?? Asian LMS - 1 = no one Green X LMS/ALMS = no one (not applied in P2) FLM - 1 = Pegasus So, this would mean that Level 5 gets 3 auto entries but looses one because of the maximum-2-per-team-rule. Will this 3rd auto entry be replaced by the LM24 2nd placed P2 car or the 3rd placed ALMS-standings P2 car (who the hell would that be, United???). Or would it just be canceled in order to free up space for other WEC or ´outside´ competitors??? Complicated stuff! - But that´s why we love sportscar racing, don´t we? |

It's pretty funny that after such a seemingly dominating season Peugeot only got the one auto entry - the same as Audi. That's not an issue as all they both need is one alongside their two full-season WEC cars.
It also turned out to be wrong that multiple auto-invites would allow second-placed cars to get in in some cases? So Flying Lizards can't get in even though AF Corse picked up 4. Or is it a case of AF Corse having to 'choose' which of the four they want to keep for entry then looking at who was second? |

There is also the chance that if the WEC proves very successful they could take LM24 out of the championship and return it to a stand alone invitation event. Including it at the stage add massive credibility to it but once it is self sufficient that may not still be necessary. |
