I booked my hotel in central Le Mans for 2018 several weeks ago, but so long as I'm well enough I'll tow the caravan down and stay on Kenn's International campsite again in 2018 - if he'll have me

Planning is underway!

There always seems to be something new to look forward to. Next year is the return of BMW to an already fiercely contested GTE Pro. And a new Aston? And of course there will be, like, 20 LMP1s, right?

Furthermore, my daughter insists she is coming along for her first visit. Good times.

PS: have the dates been announced? I am assuming 16th/17th.

Yes, FIA WMSC has approved both a draft F1 calendar and the Le Mans 2018 date at the same time; therefore, Le Mans will be 16/17 June with no GP scheduled against it.

I'm not going because I've read that Toyota and Porsche won't be there

Could well return next year. Hopefully it'll work out better than this year anyway (I stupidly didn't get to go).

I am thinking about a possible trip... but time will tell if it's feasible. Unfortunately I don't really know anyone on here anymore and I'm not sure it'd be a whole heap of fun going on my own.

After being at Spa this year I'll have to convince my travel partner that Le Mans is even better (we both absolutely loved Spa and had a much better time than any other racing even we've been to).
