Yeah right, is it just coincidence that the most successful are usually the most popular? Many people have a funny way of supporting whoever is the current "winner", as if basking in the reflected glory. Tell me you've never noticed a change of allegiance to suit the current circumstances, happens all the time in all fields of endeavour.
This is not a personal criticism, just an observation of human nature. |

Of course, I agree with that observation, I was merely pointing out that the most popular or successful always get cut down, in this case, Michael Schumacher. (As a fellow Australian you will probably be familliar with the 'tall poppy syndrome')

Sure am familiar with the 'tall poppy syndrome', it's almost an Aussie trait. Agree it's not always a good thing, but is not all bad either, to have people in positions of power and prestige questioned. Witness the scandals rocking the business world recently.
Just an example of what can happen when ego's run wild and are left unchecked. We are all mortals after all, even MS, although some would believe otherwise. There is a fine line between being a cynic and a realist. (NB. This particular post concerns the 'tall poppy syndrome' and is a generalisation, not concerning MS specifically.) |

My less favorite driver is The person whose win I'm not happy to see? M. Schumacher!

It comes from a long way. I started liking Hill because he was #0, and as Schumacher was his main rival he became my main rival too. And also because he makes it boring. And also for controversy. A lot of it. |

Least favourite? Yoong. Shouldn't be allowed the keys to a 2CV.
But if we're talking drivers, then it has to be..................................... Mmm Anybody who thinks like a racer, acts like a winner, but doesn't win. Can't think who that could be can you? Last edited by Peter Mallett; 9 Aug 2002 at 19:09. |

JPM because he hasn't been WDC twice already as many on this board felt he would.
JPM becuse he hasn't parted the Red Sea as expected. JPM becuse he has yet to discover a cure for cancer in his spare time like we are led to believe. |

Legend...what do you exactly want from people to say? That the certain person is a godness?
Well, I wouldn't say that even if they performed lobothomy on me! |

RS - because he is who he is. It would take a book for me to explain my dislikes. Lets say it first started after JPM was announced as his partner and got worse after 911.
RB - If he only had the nerve he could be one of the best drivers on the grid. Instead he cowers in Michaels shadow. I dont dislike MS because he makes demands and gets what he demands. It is not his fault that he is feared and respected. It is the fault of those that surround him. I have a lot of respect for him because he is the only driver that gets that much respect on the grid. In a few years I feel JPM might command that kind of respect too but for now he IS the man. |

I cant stand Coulthard. He never stops whining behind that expanding square jaw.
He can always think of something to complain about. Now that he isnt ahem.. disadvantaged compared to his team-mate, all his critisisms are labelled at TGF, whom Coulthard only saw at Monaco, after all, he's been too slow for the rest of his career. Not only that, but he doesn't care about being top Brit. Where's his national pride? |

I would say M.Schumacher after I saw what he did to Villeneuve in 97 and learn that he did the same thing in 1994.
After that comes Verstappen. I started to hate him after he crashed into Montoya @ Brazil in 2001. 2 hours after that race, I was still very mad! Last edited by Evilsenna; 9 Aug 2002 at 22:23. |
