I always thought that was weird...there are worse first corners in the world, after all.

Also, does the starter have to hot-foot it back to the proper start finish line or does the proper flagger delegate the start to his number two while he remains on the proper flag stand?

A very odd situation, no doubt!

ok I thought the funniest things out there were some of the incededents with the Dale Coyne AMR car.... The crash before the race started, and when Tarso Marques was getting a pull start and got the wheel pulled off.

Me too. I'm quite certain that what we find funny and what Dayle Coyne finds funny are often completely different things.

Tarso getting his wheel pulled off kind of reminded me of a couple years back when a car under tow after the race got flipped in the Corkscrew. All the driver had to do was let go of the strap.

This one is 34. Who knows?? He was born in Germany, but lives in Belgian. I'll see him at Mosport.

I suspect it's because of the shortness of the straight before the finish line, you wouldn't get all the cars out of the carosel before crossing the line. Especially some of the SS and FV races.

They use a separate starter and checkered flag waver.

Proving I have too much time on my hands I thought I would give you a little history macdaddy…maybe you don’t want this particular car. Here is it’s racing history for 1999

Track – Finish – Comment

Homestead- DNF- electrical
Montegi- 9th- 2 laps down
Long Beach- 19th- 9 laps down
Nazareth- DNF- accident
Rio- DNF-- Turbo
Gateway- 2nd- Even a blind squirrel…
Milwaukee- DNF- Boost
Portland- DNF- Engine
Cleveland- DNF- Linkage
Road America- DNF- Transmission
Toronto- DNF- Transmission
Michigan- DNF- Engine
Belle Isle- 7th-
Mid-Ohio- 7th-
Chicago- 5th-
Vancouver- 8th- They’re on a roll
Laguna Seca- DNF- Mechanical – Ouch
Houston- DNF- Accident
Surfers Paradise- DNF- Transmission
Fontana- DNF- Engine

On the other hand they have had some time to get it sorted out.

Macdaddy, you know bloody well that those Lola's are just too darn expensive, but if you were to ask for a Reynard instead we might be able to work something out.

Roller, huh? If you look very carefully, that sticker behind the cockpit says "Champcar powered by Flintstone".

My theory about Nelson is that he was having his hair cut and made into a fetching hairpiece for Mr. Gentilozzi. But when he got home, nobody would let him in and the dog bit him because they didn't know who he was, so he's currently sleeping in Memo Gidley's truck, now that Memo has his job.

Do you have a pic of PG to back up your theory, Liz? LOL He still looked as bald as an eagle in Vancouver. Maybe he'll put the hair mat on for very special occasion's only. Btw, I think PT could use some of that hair as well!

Didn't seemed to bother the starter at Vancouver though did it?

"Oh look, two cars have made it through the last turn and are kind of side by side....OK, Green Green Green!"

Oops, sorry about that, bit of the "real world" creeping in to this thread there, sorry about that, won't happen again!
