I think Jamie Green is a good bet after a brilliant season.

What about Quintarelli? He's been there before, he won the Japanese title to beat de Oliveira and Antinucci, and the Toyota engine is always very quick at Macau…

I’ve abandoned theory (to some extent) and come up with some hunches. These will be the top twelve in qualifying:
James Rossiter, because Signature really know Macau and James’s softly-softly approach should pay dividends. Nelsinho Piquet, because, despite what everyone seems to think, he set the second fastest lap of the race last year and now he knows how to approach the weekend. Any of the ASM threesome, so that’s Jamie Green, Alexandre Premat and Eric Salignon. Adam Carroll and Danny Watts, because the‘re two particular favourites of mine, although both will be in strange cars and have not had much testing in them. Alvaro Parente, because it’s his second year there with Carlin. Quintarelli and Richard Antinucci, because they both have Toyota power and have raced there before. And to round off a top twelve, Lewis Hamilton and Robert Kubica, because I like Manor and they have Mercedes power. There you go - at least I've made a start! |

And that's leaving out Nico Rosberg, Rob Austin, Franck Perera, Katsuyuki Hiranaka and Fabio Carbone, who was on pole last year!

I'm backing Hamilton, after qualifying. Don't think Piquet will make the top 10.

My money is on Green, Hamilton will crash at the first corner due to a poor start (just a feeling)

rossiter's still learning the track at his standard pace though. in relation to say, zandvoort, counting the test sessions and what have you i'd say he's about as quick as he was then. and he got 4th or something in that race.
mind you, i wouldn't want to be anyone stuck in the quali race mid-pack tomorrow! |
