I think you find they're Porsche Sport boxes.

The Monaro with the C5R 427 motor just seemed to go ever so nicely with the sequential box, can imagine the Corvette's doing the same.

Read a comment like this from Rick Kelly, he said his brother was up for it because of the cost saving, but himself stated that it was more fun having the H pattern.

Personally, if they lifted the 7500rpm cut to 8500 ot 9000rpm, allowed some exotic materials to be used in the brake package, then I'd say go the sequential, but in the mean time stick to the H pattern, suit the series.

Very much so. Many of us Corvette ppl are looking at this option.

Each shift in an H gate is 1/4 sec. Using the sequential may reduce that shift time.

No, but lets keep a H gate, coz it might be more exciting for the punters. Someone might miss a gear (Or leave it in 3rd on the Grid)....
Funny, I thought V8 Supercars was all about the punters?

You see no fans = no series,

I've got an idea, bugger the punters, lets get Super tourers instead, they're more relevant to todays market and have sequential gearboxes to boot! Oh hang on.........

OK, let me rephrase. The punters probably wouldn't care a rats whether they have H or sequential. It wont make any difference to how the cars look & sound on the track.
Its the hardcores who tend to think that it will be the rack & ruin of the category.
It just makes sense to go the seq. Same price, better reliability, less maint....

Point taken and your right, joe average fan won't know any different, and no it wont ruin the category, but I think it will be a detraction to the sport (well that small part of it that is still sport!)

Well Joe Average doesn't know the difference between rear wheel drive and front wheel pull. Lets make them front wheel pull, thats what almost all cars are these days. Traction control is the same and would also save tyres, better bring that in. What about the spool diff? Antiquated engine?

Hmmmm...... Snatching second instead of fourth at the top of the back straight at Sandown and reversing the car over the armco during the Sunday morning warm up gives the fans a huge bang for someone else's buck.

Let's keep the H pattern. I doubt that most formula Ford or Vee drivers could afford a new sequential box anyway.
