A classic case of this is the right hand curve shortly after Cairvaux at Croft leading to the chicane. The track is so bumpy that each bump compresses the rear suspension more than the rebound damping will allow it to return before it hits the next bump. The result is that the right front gets higher and higher in the air. This can be dialled out, but only to an extent which doesn't compromise more important issues. |

I see... Good stuff all of this.
So, is the reason that 'zero-droop' (or 'lots of preload') works because it limits CoG movement, and hence limits load transfer, thus keeping more load on the front tyres than if you had plenty of suspension movement but more CoG movement. Or is it a case that nobody knows WHY it works, but knows that it does (or, at least, seems to, as people can't try every solution!). |

That right rear tire looked flat or was going flat in the picture. and have you corner balanced your car? If not, then I am not joking.

Oh I see.
Yes the tyre is correctly inflated. and yes I regularly corner weighted the car. The tyre is deflecting under load and believe me thats nothing compared to a slick with real grip on a Zetec or Duratec for example. the wheel is lifting for the reasons I gave before, nothing to do with corner weights. |

I've seen your car in the assembly area mate. It's front wheel was in the air parked up and everyone noticed your offside back tyre had 300 psi in it.
We think its a cunning handling tweak that is sure to be copied by all from Ferrari to FF1600 next year. Its a very clever cost cutting strategy as well as the o/s front tyre will last all season! |

Yep, the secrets out! if you want to win you gotta drastically "stagger" the pressures and wind them pushrods to at least 4 inches different!
