climb should be qualifying in the top 10 on the gridclimb should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid

Very shortsighted , indeed: except from general economic crisis, IRL is probably the only series in the States who will not suffer from the imminent GM breakdown, whereas ALMS risks to disappear and Nascar as well risk to have alot of empty spots on their grid, for the same reason

EGG has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
This is a shame, and about kills my interest in north american OW racing. I guess I'll remain hopeful that Graham Rahal might make the switch to GP2, and then to better things, but it seems unlikely.

I stumbled onto an old NYT article earlier this afternoon, stating attendance figures as estimated by Goodyear. ~3mil/year for nascar, 2.4mil for F1 and 2.1mil for 'IndyCar'. I then noticed the article dated to 1989, and those days are long gone.
