Nick Dioguardi [formerly of Glendale CA] now lives near Palermo, Sicily, and as recently as 2005 was running a Dallara F3 of recent vintage, having begun FJ in 1960. His son, Brad Whitehead, is based in Southern CA and someone out there should be able to establish contact with one of them!

Brabham bt9/F3-8-64.
Thanks Everyone,
Must be Jack Eiteljorg of Englewood, Colorado. John Barker/ Bob Parham have mentioned references to a pro race. Hopefully, we can figure out who brought the Bt9 to Colorado to race. Mark Shillingburg |

John Barker? THE John Barker? (1969 F5000 McLaren; 1970 F5000 Eisert; possibly the 'Jack Barker' that ran a F/SCCA Saab in 1965).

Brabham Bt9 F3.8.64
Yes, the John Barker. I had a chance to speak with John Barker and Bob
Parham again. A few items were cleared up on F3.8.64... 1966 Jack Eiteljorg bought this chassis at a Colorado CDR race, possibly from a southern Californian named Gene Snow. F3.8.64 was outfitted with an F3 spec 1000cc mae. Eiteljorg, at some point, converted to SCA power. Sold to Hank Kasahara then to Maxie Ray. During Ray's ownership, the SCA engine was sold and John Barker's shop converted the chassis to FF spec. around late 1969 (SCCA Logbook #8-009). 6/72 sold to Ramsaur. 4/73 sold to Bob Parham. Dec. 2007 to Mark Shillingburg. The chassis is presently being reconfigured back to its original spec. I have the original chassis tag. Thanks for all the research help. Mark Shillingburg |

Hi Mark
Could you put me in touch with John Barker? He could help me nail down a few things about the cars he ran. My email is allen@oldracingcars.com. Thanks |

BT9
I'm restoring F3.8.64's frame back to original, does anyone have any good pics they could email or send me, of an original BT9 without bodywork please. Having worked on BT6's, and made some drawings, and I have good pics of BT2's and BT6's. I'm seeing quite a few tubing differences between them and the 9. The engine bay being the most important, this one was heavily modified. Any help will be greatly appreciated and will enable the BT9 to be as original as possible.
Thanks in Advance. David Irwin Evergreen, CO |

Pellow brabham
Hi there,
I purchased the Pellow Brabham from Barny in 1970 and raced it in the NZ Formula Ford championship for 2 seasons. The number was FJ-15-63 (or 61). I understood it was a BT15 but I don't think it could have been. After I backed it into a fence at Levin, we repolaced the rear uprights with some from a BT18 and the body from a Titan. I feel really bad about that now, but at the time, every 10th of a second was worth having. I have somne photos if it is of interest. regards, Frank |

Bt9-7-64
G'day Brabham fans,
I'm waiting on my basket case (ex Walter Habegger) BT9-7-64 to arrive from France for restoration. It ran in 3 different engine forms. Screamer F3 to begin with, then Alfa Romeo GTA1600 engine and also Lotus Ford twin cam 1598. all this before 1968! Does anyone remember the car and what gearbox it ran? It is also missing engine and steering rack!! What an amazing bunch of guys you are! So much knowledge all stored up for us new guys to tap. Thanks. Bruce Mansell Sydney. so many projects, so little time. |

BT9 chassis F3-7-64
Hi all,
Re F3-7-64 Sold new to Walter Habegger / Holbay screamer 1000cc September 1964 ??? Sold to Arnold Seiler in September 1965 ???? Sold to Richard Gerrin September 1966 replaced engine with F2 spec Lotus Ford twin cam. It raced with this engine in 1967 driven by Gerhard Krammer (Tulln-Langenlebarn) In the same race in 1968 it was driven by Krammer entered by Walter Habegger??? in Alfa Romeo GTA 1600 engine form. Did Habegger buy it back perhaps? Any other history I'd be very pleased to get. Thanks. |

Habegger replaced the screamer with a 1.6-litre Ford twin-cam for the 1965 season. He was one of the quickest competitors in the Swiss Championship in 1965. The car he drove in 1968 was a completely different Brabham of course. |
