That's not good.
More awful rejoining action, can't believe people are doing this with their cars and their health. |

How many times did it take for someone to pull in front of someone after having an off before they get hit? I count 4 times this race off the top of my head, 3 w/o contact and finally one hits home. Mind numbing, these moves.

Seems like TRG hopes to get the car out again. The Ferrari seems to be done.

Can't really take this series seriously when they continue to allow drivers to make dangerous re-entries like this year after year.

I'm betting the #51 driver will be wishing he wasn't there now...

TRG seem to have no luck, they and Risi must have a curse on them.
On the plus side, #1 HPD will be back to lead lap I believe. Showing what a joke this system is though, #912 is back to 1 lap behind the GTE lead. |

What's more stupid is that these teams supposedly have spotters watching for them.
But that's the third dangerous re-entry so far today. |

I haven't seen the wave around benefiting the protos tonight, but would be good to see them on the lead lap.

Would have been a good start parking Shane Lewis after his rejoin earlier in the race, the fact IMSA did nothing at all sends a strong message to the other drivers.

If they're going to keep making stupid moves like this, they might as well make it a rule to drive off-road to get on the track at a better location. No sane driver should be jumping in front of traffic!

What Radio LM says, him starting the car while still in gear and so jumping back on track, could be a viable explanation.

Well, you have to remember that Beaux Barfield returned to IMSA after a couple of years away in Indy Car.
Paul Walter was race director most of last year, and he suspended drivers after professional drivers and team owners were beating down his door after Sebring last year over that and other issues (and, IMO trying to re-establish credibility as a race director for IMSA). But I won't be surprised if Beaux does issue fines and/or probation, and at least threats of suspensions to some of these guys, especially if it's pro drivers causing some of these messes. You do have to remember that when Barfield had free reign in Indy Car race control, some stuff like this lead to drivers being put on season-long probation, sometimes for lesser offenses. |
