If GM and Ford keep heamorraging corporately as they are thats the issue which will determine the catagories future.

This little piece of 'fluff' makes great press - gets people talking before the series starts gets the rivalry thing going - nothing more.

V8 supercars australia have just sent throught a release about this whole thing.
It states that a meeting was held yesterday in which an agreement had been reached for HRT and TOLL to compete this year, upon recieving the appropriate docs.

QUOTE

"This means that all 31 licence holders, in anticipation of the documentation from HRT and Toll HSV, will be on the grid at next week’s Clipsal 500 in Adelaide and in the V8 Supercar Championship Series in 2007.

TEGA is responsible for the licencing of teams that compete in the V8 Supercar Championship Series, along with the rules of the sport, issues of compliance and those affecting the teams."

END OF STORY REALLY!

You make lots of claims - can you back any up?

There are lots of claims backed by personal agendas, is this one?

Take your claims one at a time & back them up

So when is Walkinshaw performance purchasing the L1 franchise licence slots controlled by Mr Skaife and Mr Kelly?

Surely if something walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, looks like a duck... you might as well make it a duck?

.....unless GTR, TW is involved, whereby with a few 'tweaks' it can look like a 'lions den' at feeding time !....

TSR has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
So bottom line is that TEGA run scare of HOLDEN and let HOLDEN do what they want to do. And now both HRT team cars will grid up in ADL.

So who really runs this so called championship.

this is the problem they created by adopting such an exclusive formula for the series, the manufacturers have ALL the power, if either pulls its support it will make it very hard for the series to continue

What hasn't been made clear yet is, have they recieved the appropriate docs yet? The release says "....in anticipation of the documentation...." which suggests that it has not yet been recieved - and that therefore this may not be over yet.

well thats how i read it, but maybe there is a path forward and as long as the steps are made cleare and then met, there is not really any problem

Is this the 4th year in a row that the season has started with a HRT issue.

On the positive side 125% of the salary cap. no wonder the paint jobs look like last years

Ho Hum, So much do about nothing. Yes the demise of TWR and the associated buying and selling, is till being debated. Like Braker Morant, The British will never release the papers. As for TEGA, Freddy Bloggs owns a shed, he builds cars and other stuff. HE can't enter a car, as he does not have aTEGA Lic. His driver does, the driver enters the cars, Tega accepts this. All is well in the Banana Republic.
So far, a few have got it correct, others have hit on the promotional side. correct again.
One thing that is missing, is the clarification of technical aliance. If TEGA want a level playing field, then the next step is to go a NASCAR set up. One standard chassis, one set of aero package etc. No more whinging.
May the best driver win

dont think the paperwork has anything to do with the grouping, they are grouped because of the common denominator.

the paperwork decides who the owner is

and GTR according to this paperwork i have here, you work for me, so quit slacking off and go get some gossip

I reckon you knew something about this last night and didnt let on also,

I think that all this nonsonse has being one of two things.

1. VE$A & TEGA getting some good PR before the start of the season.
2. HOLDEN getting good PR for the new VE before the start of the season.

More than likely option 1 is not far from the truth. And pulling the wool over out eyes at the same time.

it's common knowledge up here where Paul Gover sits with Holden and HRT. He would have produced what he was told.

Ok, a new can of worms has just been opened....

2005 - BRITEK and FPR are grouped for sharing chassis and SOME data, despite Britek getting jack all.

2006 - WERE HRT and TOLL grouped because of common chassis and data preparer, or common "puppet master"?

I think we all (myself included) may have been sucked in by a few rumours. And heck, maybe the rumours are true, but if Skaife and Kelly Snr are REALLY buying chassis, is that not legal?

Wasn't it because Jason owned the Britek team but drove for FPR?

Garry Rogers has just spoken out on this, calling for heavier punishments for hrt/toll, check out foxsports.com.au for more.

Call me cynical, but hrt/toll can do whatever they damn well please and VE$A wont do a bloody thing about it.
