They basically put all they had into the LM car. So hopefully next year they up the budget and focus more funds on the high downforce version. And maybe a third car with Pechito Lopez?
edit- the #7 taking an early stop! |

just wondered the same myself. Maybe eduardo wants to have a full lap under FCY conditions (or an integer number of laps under FCY conditions) so it evens out more wrt competitive advantages
edit: seems like it. It takes 4 min 8 to circle the lap under FCY speed, FCY time was 4 min 30. |

Toyota no longer need their splash, and have taken care of their used tire issue with this pit the #6 just took.

This year's post-LM season is certainly not as much of a loss for Toyota as 2015 was.
They`re always able to compete with at least one of the opponents. |

With strategy Toyota might be able to be a factor in the finish (with its new tires) at least to fight for a podium ... Like kvenom, I want Toyota to be one of three, not the fastest also-ran. Pretty interesting so far, and could get better.
Now Audi might double-stint and save new rubber for the end ... but they cannot double-stint the #7, which is already on used tires ... so more split strategy. |

I agree. They're not all the way there, but also not 3 seconds per lap slower like 2015. I think Fuji will be a lot better and I wonder if they'll use their Silverstone/Spa package.

So once again an Audi loses downforce on th front. This time the #7 according to team radio. This could explain the slower lap times compared to the sister car.

FCY time really seems to be n * (1 lap under 80 km/h) + 1 pit stop, which would make sense under a global fairness aspect. (But, don't deduce from two data points, argh. Pity the alkamel documents don't contain race control messages with its timestamps, I wish they'd publish their telnet data stream...)

#8 stopped on track. Restarted but lost the lead.
Congrats, Audi. It looks like you've found another way of tossing a race away. |

Running but SLOW, seems a little faster at the end of that on-board but the 8 doesn't look good on track

And of course it's the #8 which had a slightly better pace than the #7.

How the #1 is only 38s behind the leader, since Audi gained several seconds for not changing tyres?

At this pace, the #8 and #1 will be up to the back of the leading #7 before the race is out.
